2nd Annual YSFA Day Spotlights DC Youth Sports Organizations
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Go Play, a D.C.-based nonprofit that creates opportunities for kids to participate in sports, is thrilled to present its 2nd Annual Youth Sports For All (YSFA) Day, a free community event encouraging youth to play, connect, explore and discover.
DMV families are invited to YSFA Day at The Fields at RFK Campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 4. Attendees will be able to connect with over 12 local athletic organizations, engage in sports activations, and enjoy local food vendors, raffles, music and lawn games.
Those interested in attending this free event can register online.
A celebration of DC’s youth sports scene, YSFA Day was conceived with a goal of recognizing the community organizations facilitating youth involvement in sports, connecting families with those groups and garnering enthusiasm for physical activity.
“Community is what allows us to learn, grow and thrive,” said Joshua Greene, YSFA Manager. “With initiatives like YSFA Day, Go Play seeks to create space for meaningful connections between youth, families, volunteers, and organizations to take root and flourish.”
DC Pickleball League, a Go Play partner, will be simultaneously hosting free pickleball clinics in support of YSFA Day.
Go Play was founded in 2010 with a mission of creating more space for everyone to go play in DC. Since 2019, Go Play has managed and operated The Fields at RFK Campus for EventsDC.
YSFA Day is a part of Go Play’s overarching YSFA Program, which breaks down financial barriers as a limit youth’s access to sports. The YSFA Program matches families with athletic programs based on their needs and provides financial scholarships and sports equipment to youth in Wards 5-8. In 2025, Go Play provided over $70,000 in sports scholarships to DC youth.
